Huntington Beach, also known as Surf City USA, is located just south of Los Angeles, between Long Beach and Newport Beach. It lies near the San Pedro Channel and Catalina Island along Interstate 5.

This dynamic coastal city has a sunny Mediterranean climate and is home to more than 195,000 residents. It can claim more than eight miles of scenic, accessible beachfront, the largest stretch of uninterrupted beachfront on theWest Coast. It has one of the largest recreational piers in the world, many public parks, a marina, wildlife preserve, trails for biking, jogging and horseback riding, and a walking trail along the ocean.

Huntington Central Library holds the largest children's collection west of the Mississippi. The educational system is excellent, with five city high schools and 35 elementary schools. Huntington Beach is home to Golden West Community College and nearby UC Irvine and Cal State Long Beach and Fullerton.

Huntington Beach is ranked one of the ten safest cities by City Crime Rankings and the quality of the community services offered to its citizens. The Huntington Beach Art Center and the Huntington Beach Playhouse provide a wide variety of fine arts, and the excellent library system and numerous museums provide a strong cultural foundation.
