Seal Beach, with a population of 25,098,sits on the coast as the gateway to Orange County between the cities of Long Beach and Huntington Beach. The city is the home of Leisure World, a gated senior citizen community of approximately 7-10,000 persons. Seal Beach is a quaint seaside community on the northern most border of Orange County. Located at the mouth of Alamitos Bay, it provides access for boats and yachts entering the Pacific Ocean from Huntington Harbor.
Even though Seal Beach is California's fifth largest city with the busiest port in the nation looms next door, Old Town Seal Beach features shady, tree-lined Main Street, a beautiful beach and pier reminiscent of small town America during the mid-1900's.
Major employers in the city are the Seal Beach Naval Weapons Station and Boeing. There is a variety of recreation in Seal Beach with the focus of attraction being the municipal pier. The main beach provides one mile of white sandy beaches attracting nearly one million tourists per year. Surfside provides an additional 3/4 of a mile of sandy beach.
A short 20 minute drive takes you to Disneyland or Knott's Berry Farm, and only a 5 minute drive takes you to the new Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach.
